Safety & Screening
Your safety is not optional. It is everything.
This industry does not come with built-in protection, background checks, or accountability. That means you have to create your own systems.
This page is here to help you move smarter, screen better, and avoid situations that can cost you your safety, your freedom, or your peace.
You are allowed to be cautious.
You are allowed to say no.
You are allowed to walk away.
The Essential Screening Checklist
SECTION 1: THE NON-NEGOTIABLES
If a client refuses any of these, do not see them.
• ID verification (or clear proof of identity)
• A recent photo or live verification
• A deposit
• Clear communication before meeting
If someone pushes back on basic screening, they are telling you everything you need to know.
SECTION 2: ESSENTIAL SCREENING CHECKLIST
(You can link this to your checklist page later too)
Before every new client, ask yourself:
✔ Do I know who this person is?
✔ Have they provided real verification?
✔ Have they been respectful and consistent in communication?
✔ Have they agreed to boundaries clearly?
✔ Do I feel calm or uneasy?
👉 If your body feels off, listen to that.
Instinct is not random. It’s pattern recognition.
🚩 SECTION 3: RED FLAGS
Do not ignore these.
• Refuses to provide ID or verification
• Pushes to skip screening
• Tries to rush the booking
• Avoids deposits
• Asks too many personal questions about you
• Wants to move communication off platform immediately
• Becomes irritated when you set boundaries
One red flag might be enough.
Multiple red flags is your answer.
💰 SECTION 4: MONEY & DEPOSITS
Always require a deposit for new clients.
Why:
• Filters out time-wasters
• Confirms seriousness
• Creates a basic level of accountability
If someone says:
“I don’t do deposits”
You say:
“I don’t do bookings without one.”
No explanation needed.
📍 SECTION 5: LOCATION SAFETY
Where you meet matters.
Safer options:
• Reputable hotels
• Locations in your name
• Places where staff and cameras exist
Be cautious with:
• Private homes (especially first time)
• Remote areas
• Last-minute location changes
Always know:
• Where you are going
• Who you are meeting
• How you are leaving
📱 SECTION 6: TELL SOMEONE
Even if you work alone, don’t move alone.
• Share location with someone you trust
• Send them client info
• Set a check-in time
If something goes wrong, someone needs to know where to start.
🧠 SECTION 7: TRUST YOURSELF
You can do everything “right” and something can still feel off.
That feeling matters.
You do not owe anyone access to you.
You do not owe anyone your time.
You do not owe anyone an explanation for protecting yourself.
✨ CLOSING SECTION
